Multihulls I've owned since about 1974 (click to enlarge)

Burgess 29 "Prowler"

Burgess 29 "Prowler"

The story goes that the hulls were really two trimaran Amas flopped from "Verbatim", can't see how as it's nearly 10 ft shorter. Whole boat is built in composite as one piece. Very light with huge rig. Very quick but scary over 15 knots (would fly a hull in 12). Formerley known as "Pronto".

Replaced GBE with this boat. Fitted fixed spinnaker pole and later new (bigger) main and jib. Would do over 30 knots in reasonably flat water. Formerley known as "Pumpkin Eater" & "Dancing Mouse" and after I sold it, "Blow Me".

GBE "Botany Bay Express"

GBE "Botany Bay Express"

28' Great Barrier Express. Replaced Seawind with this. Extended rig by 3' to greatly upgrade performance. Formerley known as "Nice Pair (Pear?)". Video frame grab!

Tornado KA1 "LP Gas". 1978

Tornado KA1 "LP Gas". 1978

Tornado KA 1. First Tornado registered in Australia. Originally owned by Ron Burrows and named Jezabel. I bought it as hulls and beams from Jay Booth in 1976/77? (after destroying KA 25 ). I refurbished it with new decks etc (as in this photo) and raced with Kurnell Catamaran Club for some years. Replaced with KA 168 and eventually donated (not sold) it to the Tornado Association.

Radio control model sailing trimaran. Bout a metre long and 1.8m high. Very quickly sails out of range and faster than you can row. Still have this one!

Trimaran "Fast Breeder Reactor".

20' x 14'. Built from remains of KA 25 (centre hull and rig) and 2 Mosquito hulls (one of which I had to splice the two broken halves back together). After this photo was taken, I fitted a centre cockpit and wheel steering. Sailed with 2 sheethands on trap and helmsman in cockpit wearing ski goggles. Launched in 1978.
